Hi i have came across a few of old Rotax single cylinders that i bought a garage sale.. What im wondering is? IS their any way to find out what size they are?
a few of the cylinders seem a heavier than the rest look like cast iron...
the fellow i bought them from said their is a few 299, 292s and a 335 320...
if any one knows please let me know
and their was no heads with them ,,
thanks john

hi john i think the number of fins on the jug will determine and indicate different size motors that you have,, and of course if you measure the width of the open cylinder walls.. I will try to find out more on counting the fins.. and size of standard bores on different rotax cylinders made......
And if anyone here might know this please post it..
thanks

The 292 and 340 TNT jugs will have a bigger opening for the carb to mount to than the others. the 320 will be aluminum with cast iron sleeve, I think the newer 299s will also.
the 1969 &70 292s have a different number of fins than the 1971 & 72 engines.
