Just Picked up a Honda 200 ATC Trike

Just picked up a well used Honda Three wheeler

Tryed pulling it over i see i have spark on the plug ..

But its not firing or getting the right amount of gas,,

So i cleaned the carb ,,,Put it back together and pulled it over ,,
She fired up and runs but as soon a hit the gas it seems to sputter out and die..

I want to get this rig up and running and use it for hunting and maybe ice fishing if we dont get lots of snow that is...

Any ideas?? anyone?

floats might be stuck, or the jets and idle might need adjusting thats all i can think of

Cleaned carb over and over seemed to get a bit better
but still it seems its gutless idles and putts around ok but as soon as you crack it open it nearly dies... This thing is driving me crazy!

if it has a slide carb the throttle setting might be off, if you can find a different carb try that and see what happens

IM BACK and with NO SUCCESS
tryed a different Carb and all ,
Im about to give up for the season on this PIGF&&#&##!!!,,

Doing the same thing GUTSLESS no power runs and idles good though!

Well viking i once had a Trike that was gutless sounds like yer problem ,,,
It acted like the advance wasnt working properly Under your Cdi Cover near the top the head
should be timing advance system it will have two springs take your hand and turn it clock wise with motor off,,, It should slightly move forward take note of how it functions
I had one time have only one spring and it was seized..
spray it up with some lube then dry it off...
Let me know if that works ,,How else could i explain this to you??
Ok a good example of how the timing advance works on your trike is exactly the same as a elan motor..
Older Mags of elan 250 have a spring loaded timing advance ,,,Infact i think all of them do..71 - 96\
Except for the twin cylinder 250 elan motors.

I checked the advance spark mechanism under the CdI cover like you said to do and you hit it dead on Sledrat!I tryed moving it back and forth and it was seized but i got it moving abit ,,

And just that made a world of difference,,
So now im gonna soak it in penetrating oil and clean it up
real good!
Even after just lubing that one piece
Now when i Crack down on the throttle it pickups good!
Infact my old trike did a huge wheelie and i almost flipped it!

This old HONDA three wheeler got some Fire in it still!
