Should be a inspection glass hole/plug where you can see the level of your chaincase oil.. if the level is in the glass you should be ok..
hope this helps

Hi there 1994VMAX 500 not to be a stick in the mud or anything,,,BUT Some sleds were made with out a drain plug or a inspection plug!!.. So that means you may have to take off or seperate the chain case cover and let it drain out its messy..,, or suction it out some way..,, If you decide to do that or need to do that,, i would probly call or ask a Yamaha dealership near you how much is required to be in there??.. And i would also ask if you should order a new chain case gasket while your at it.. According to the chain case diagram i found surfing the net.. Seems to be no drain plug for your yammy.. Chain case for your sled click here---> www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Snowmobile/1995/VMAX+500+-+VX500V/TRACK+DRIVE+2+8AB2+8BP2/parts.html#Also i heard some SLEDWRENCH Dudes will tip their sleds on the side and use a suction gun to get the oil out.. Either way becareful and have a Friend or a adult friend to give you hand if you do it.ect,,, Let us know how you make out Merry Christmas bud Sledrat,,,
