HELLO BOARD I TOOK MY OLD SAFARI 377 OUT FOR A LONG WAITED BURN YESTERDAY,,,
IT STARTED AND IDLES PERFECT OK HERES THE PROBLEM AFTER ABOUT 1/4 TO HALF THROTTLE
IT THEN STUMBLES AND LOSES POWER BASICALLY IT FALLS FLAT ON IT FACE ! AFTER 1/2 THROTTLE
.. bUT iif YOU SLIGHTLY LET OFF ON THROTTLE IT WILL TRY TO OPEN UP A LIL MORE THAN HALF!

ANY IDEAS WHAT THIS COULD BE OR HOW TO FIX IT..?
AND the carb is a MIKUNI not sure of the size though..

I would try cleaning the carb again and blow it out with air
When apart take a thin piece of stiff wire like a welding tip cleaner
and run through the jet passages are very small
and if they get plugged it wont run or idle good.
I like to use Mercury Powertune foam on my carbs it works like a hot dam,,
It really cleans the carbon on pistons and in the head combustion chamber
inside the motor,,
With out having to ripping the motor apart.
It also frees the rings up if sticky and cleans the ring grooves...
ITS Good stuff you wont be sorry!
About 10 bucks a can last along time..

GOT THE SLED BACK UP AND RUNNING AND RUNNING GOOD thanks man!!!
i gOT A CAN OF THAT POWERTUNE YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT..
sPRAYED SOME RIGHT INTO THE CARB THROUGH THE MAIN FUEL LINE
it FILLED THE BOWL UNTILL IT SHUT OFF AND I COULD GET NO MORE IN THERE.
OH WEAR SAFETY GLASSES DOING THAT...
I THEN LET IT SIT A DAY!
aFTER THAT DRAINED THE CARB,, tOOK THE CARB APART BLEW IT OUT WITH THE COMEPRESSOR
noW its good to go! IDLES PERFECT GOOD RESPONSE JUST LIKE A NEW SLED again!
i LIKE THIS STUFF AND HELL I CAN USE IT ON MY LIL OUTBOARD FISHING MOTOR TOO!
