Well folks I went out for a run with my mint vintage cat and all was good and all working well. An hour into my run and driving reasonable 25 30 mph. I had some bogging issues. When I let the throttle go the engine idled well and no overheating as it was 15 below. The engine idled fine. I pulled the plugs and all ok and not fouled. I replaced them anyway with new ones. I restarted the engine with no problems. As soon as I gave it fuel it was bogging again and had a hard time getting going again. Once I got going I could open the throttle and it would achieve power it had before and as soon as I slacked off the throttle. My next move is to replace the fuel filter and check all the fuel lines for any leakage. I will also check the in tank filter. The fuel pump has lots of pressure and the gas tank is full. It seems that when you apply the throttle one cyl is fuel starved. Could I have a sticking throttle cable on the pto side?. It wouldnt seem so as I do get full throttle. Im stuck and I need some advice. Thanks in advance. J

Hi there Rotaxman440
I would like to help you out and im sure someone here can solve your problem or will
will be able to ..But I myself im not to familiar with the newer Arctic Cat sleds
i guess one thing that could be useful to your question is
what type of carbs are on your sled?
Have you done any other work to your sled previous if so what?
How many times have you used the sled this year?

Does that sled have a check engine light?
If so does it blink take note of the sequence of blinks
I'm really not into the new sleds to much to figure out I like the old school Stuff Nice and simple .
Also I would if nothing else maybe give the carbs a good cleaning Also look at the carb boot for any cracks or leaks
Hope this helps you out a bit

The carbs on my sled are Mikuni VM40's, All the work that has been done to this sled was always done by an Arctic Cat dealer/mechanic. I did use it quite often this winter and worked like a charm until this issue. I have put about 3 tanks of gas in the tank. The only light it has for warning lights is temp and oil. I will also check the carb boots for cracks or wear. Please let me know if anyone has has any similar problems with their sled. Thanks in advance for your help all. Have a great day. Jacques

It really sounds like a dirty carb issue to me It's strange that all of a sudden it started acting up I would clean the carbs and go from there Take a small fine wire and clean all the passages on your carb . Make sure they are all free of gunk One other thing make sure the clip on your needle in your carbs piston is intact. And that when you open your throttle the carbs open properly Look for any problems with cables and lines Also it could be something as simple as a sticking float in your carb which a carb cleaning will take care of Best of luck and let us know what u find.
Ok after you cleaned the carb if you see any difference in response You then know your on the right track And if still not right clean clean clean the carb again Sometimes they can be stubborn

You guys are awesome. I have a snowmobile mechanic that came to see me today and told me the exact same thing. I'm bringing my sled to him and he is going to pull the carbs and clean all the crap out of them. He has worked for 30 years in the business and said that it doesn't take much for this to occur. I will update you on what he finds so others can benefit in case they run into the same problem as I. Thanks again folks. Its well appreciated. Jacques
