Old Skidoo recoil starter rope rewind question?

Hi there just wondering if anyone would knows how many times i
should rewind up the the new rope on my old skidoos recoil starter cup?
I tryed and Seems its to loose and floppy but i dont want to break the spring inside by over rewinding it!.

Is there a general rule of thumb when replace the recoil starter rope  on old sleds?

hello there Elankid
 7 winds and your good to go..,, according to the page below..
If seven feels a lil much try 6 winds
then just take up the slack alil by shortening the rope after you put the starter cup back on your sleds engine
