Well folks here i found a good deal on a old Olympique Skidoo motor i think?,yep anyways It was frozen,, Really frozen infact not just piston seized ,,But Litterally i had to thaw this motor out.. ,,BeCause when i got it there was a huge ice chunk sticking out of the exhaust port.. So anyways i unthawed it ,and yes it was still seized and rusted up though..
So i began by oiling up the cylinder with a heavy spray SHOTZ of WD and then trying to move the clutch with some pressure.. Nope nothing couldnt budget, It was stuck GOOD!
I wondered how bad was this jug??So i popped off the old dirty tilly carb and tryed to run my finger inside the cylinder ,,the piston was seized on the down stroke and it was open enough for me to to feel the condition of the jug walls with my finger ,,
I was really hoping maybe i could salvage it if not at least parts for other ratsled projects ,,But it looked hopeless since seeing all the ice and the rust that was on the outside before i thawed the motor out,, ,,I figured yep its rusted up bad and i was right!! ,, sure enough after feeling around abit i got a rusty red sludge gooped mixed with WD on my finger.. The walls felt rusted up bad and rough ..So not wanting to wreck the piston by pounding up and down it that rough jug i decided to pop off the head ,, And to my surprise heres what i found,,
This is what you call a RARE Vintage Labatt Blue BEER case headgasket!
Yep the Previous owner was a old MECHANIC that must have enjoyed his beer,
Did it work yes it did because this homemade beer case gasket looked like it was heated so im sure it got some one home in pinch.,,,
for how long i dont know..
I was very impressed with this gasket it was very well made i mean for cutting one out of a Old beer case! But hey you have to DOO what you have to Doo sometimes eh?
lol
I will be keeping this and framing it for a Doo keep sake..
