Hello all, I am posting for the first time. I just rebuilt by tillitson hr40a carb and get new gas to my sled. I put brand new primary and drive belts on it but the drive belt will not engage. Before putting the belts on I pulled the clutch and cleaned it thoroughly. Is there any other answer as to why the belt wont engage and allow me to drive?
Thanks for any help!

Howdy BD1703 when you took the clutch apart did you make sure the arms that move inside moved freely and were baCK in thier place? **also first try pushing the clutch in by hand first to see if you can move it back and forth ? does it go in and not spring back out? or you cant even move it at all? BEST TO TAKE THE BELT OFF with out engine on of course..press with alot of force try to close the the clutch like it was going to if it had a belt inbetween it?,, if you cant best take it apart again and inspect it or better yet take a few pics of it and post it look for wearing spots that may jam up making your clutch from not moving or closing under rpm of the engine,.,, thats about the best i can advise ~VIKING
