i got a question for the board I was wondering when taking the drive chain and the two drive sprockets in the chain case off ?how do i loosen the tension??Because there is no self adjusting mechanism,, im having a hard time and i dont want to damage anything.... Its a older arctic cat from the 1970s 340 how do i get Chain and spockets off the each drive shaft?i know on skidoos they are splined and some have a nut with a cotter pin and its easy to take them off..they just slide off,,,
AnywaYS I have taken the two bolts out of the center of each gear....the shafts looked splined on the arctic cat too,, Do i need a gear puller or something?

Hi Kitty Kat
Just behind the chain case block at the top between that and the Secondary Clutch drive there should be two bolts one has a grease nipple and one is just a bolt loosen them both,,,that how you adjust the chain tension just learnt that today.. Anyways look at your top toothed gear in the chain case see how it looks like a cam lobe behind it .. the whole Secondary drive pulley rotates and moves in there... its lobed higher at one point than the other.. so when you put it back together you adjust move it forward or back to get right chain tension i will take a pic..
You should then be able to lightly pry behind the two sprocket equally..They should come off no prob
