hi anyone else here do any trapping in the winter for Muskrats? If so what type of sets do you find the best for catching muskrats?

In The month of March when you see the muskrat mud pushups along the ponds slues ,lake edges Set the trap in there you have to knock it open with a axe ..make sure when you open it up as clean as possible to put the cap back on thats easy pickens inside you will see abunch of weeds and stuff but in there will be like a tunnel..set your trap there.. Number 1 1/2 traps work better cause they drown them better.. Sometimes you luck out and catch a mink thats messing around the rat pushups too!... And becarefull if you use a lighter trap than a number 1 1/2 .. IT may not drowned them and they could be alive make sure to pack your small light weight trapping rifle on yer RATsled... sMALL SHORT light 22cal.. Just in case.. Cause A mad alive Muskrat in a trap can still jump 3ft high in A BLINK OF EYE AND ready to fight on land or ice!! ... Heres another link that may explain it abit better.. www.nodakoutdoors.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=79496
