Hi I got a problem my old skidoo is blowing bulbs like crazy I put a new one in and after a short ride I noticed it burnt another one!! Any ideas what it could be? Getting costly already spent well over 50 on bulbs I'm sick of it!! Help please!!! Thank you Rod

I would check your sleds voltage regulator and make sure your engine has a good ground!

hi again i checked over the wiring grounds and voltage regulator seem to be fine! nothing so far ,,,Yep Just watched another 5 bucks blow out in front of my eyes! About 20 secs of riding then poof!!GONE!!! Thats the 15th Bulb AND counting!
Screw it i got only one blub left!!

Sure ok sorry its a Citation skidoo 250cc oil injected late 1980s? yellow! if that helps I was tempted to put another bulb in today But i stopped myself! Help please new snow fell and i like night riding in the fresh powder!

Hi sledrat no i have been using it with out having the battery hooked up My battery froze i took it out cause it was dead to get a new one!
I will hook the new battery up and try it last bulb to try!
Let you know tonight if it worked or not!

YEP MAKE SURE all grounds and Battery IS HOOKED UP proper! I think IT will OVER CHARGE THE or juice up the BULB to much with out the battery hooked up needs BAttery to regulate the power to BULB..

Ok Im back i just hooked up battery and tryed it again pleased to say so far so good! YAHOOO!!!! its working perfect!

just to add regardless if it's electric or pull start you may think the voltage regulator is grounded every year i take the voltage regulator off and clean the connection regardless if it needs it or not my one sled 1980 citation 4500 is a very banged up sled it's rusted out but still hold it's own it will never be a restored sled so i will drive it into the ground. my point on this sled because of the rust build up every year i have to clean the connection so i got inpatient and just connected a wire form the negative wire form regulator to the negative of the motor never had a bulb problem since so basically i by passed the whole sled

Hey thanks scoob! yip thats one way of putting it! You by pass the whole sled HA to funny but ya i will pop off the regulator and clean it good again just for safety sake! thanks again Roddy
