Try 0ne turn out on each screw on side of the carb to start with.. Then warm it up good then turn the Main mixture screw in till you hear the motor change and run poorly stop as soon as you hear that change then turn slowly the screw back out back out just till you start to hear the motor run crappy again stop! Now turn the screw back in about quarter turn or less or till it runs smooth and responsive to clean it up the revs so it runs smooth under load!,, hope this helps or The first Screw 1 1/4 out from gently seated the second bigger screw main mixture is 3/4 - 5/8 out from gently seated.. but still you will have to be adjusted when warm in or out slightly.. *ALSO I have had a Jiffy for over 20+ years and never not mixed the gas less than 24:1 as it calls for ,,And it still runs very strong with good compression bet ya a easy 1000 of holes 4ft thick it has done! SO dont listen to other folks tell you 50:1 is ok to use in it unless you want or like rebuilding it or wearing out in half the time... Dont get me wrong 50:1 mixed gas will work in pinch but i wouldnt use it for long like all season ,,,But for a few holes no biggy Jiffy builds a dam good ice auger! And the OLD Jiffy Model 30 Metal Top has to be about the best built ICE auger for the price!
