Hi I have a old élan skidoo and i was driving it the other day and all was good. After taking a break to have a warm up coffee from the trail ride . I noticed it felt like my clutch was not working right! Kinda like was staying in gear. So when I went to start it suddenly took off on me with out me ! Any ideas why or what I should do to fix this? Thanks todd

yikes better make sure your brakes work so you can stop the elan next time starting Or look at your clutch and make sure its not pinching your drive belt/ your clutch is stuck on .. If it is try and make it release by pushing hard on it or unwedging the belt from between the clutch halves. you may have to pop your clutch off and clean up the clutch shaft..So it operates proper again,, OR Possible wear thickness is in correct getting jammed in there.. Measure how wide ur belt is and lets us know... might need a new belt..
And also ***REMEMBER THIS DO NOT OPERATE A OLD SLED WITH OUT A BELT GAURD EVER!
cant express this enough cause getting a chunk of old clutch in the face travelinig at 5000 rpm is not gonna be pretty!
So when you try your sled again make sure your gaurd is on and in place...
