This one is already mostly rebuilt from used parts but its still a job to be finished. Hopefully I will be able to find the things I need to finish the job. A paint job is still in the cards for the summer.
I have an entire phto story of the whole project but I will have to upload it to photobucket or something to share it with ye all.
Here's a first try. Its not all the pics or it would have taken me all day to upload but it should give you an idea.
The machine is not restored as new because I like to keep the esthetics a bit ruff to show age and character. But I did a lil refresh on the black part of the hood and will offer it its SnoJet decals on the sides along with minor touch ups in the blue where red primer is showing. The rest stays as is. A survivor always has its spot in the barn for me.
The firs couple o pics are the donor sleds and the prospect, then comes the first engine I tried to rebuild but it was waaayy too messed up. After that comes second engine this one was nice and clean inside. The rest should be pics of the rebuild and the endresult. I will get back to it in time but I just HAD to ride it last winter. And I will tell you it did outride and outclass many a sled in the vintage rides last winter. This SST is surprisingly fast.
Snojets were dang fast sleds my friend had one that really put it out for a stock engine! Welcome to the site hatedge great story and project thanks for posting that!
Sno Jet SST sure were fast. I mean for stock sleds intended for the general public. Their race models were some of the meanest machines ever raced too. I can reach 128km/h with it (79.5 MPH) on a good day, let me tell ye thats plenty for a sled that has a narrow stance.
I still have 3 SST 1977 frames that im wondering what to do with, I've been thinking about making a ratsled for a long time and those SSTs might just be right for a mean rat.
Heres a lil vid of the first pull on the recoil. I was real proud to finally hear it purr and the carb seemed just about set right, I didnt have to tune it up for it to hold its iddle.
And heres a taste of the SST in Drag mode. The 4 T'nts sitting next to the track at the end of the vid had all lost agaisnt my SST

TY Viking. The best part of it its a stock sled. Ive had around 30 vintage sleds in the past 5 years and this one is the best one ive had. The suspention give a real comfy ride and when in the air the thing is extremely stable and flies a straight table top line. That makes for perfect landings every time

Hey guys, I've been neglecting this here forum for a long time and i'm sorry for this. Lots of machines have come and gone since my last post. Presently am getting the SST cab fixed up and repainted. It still is my favourite sled. Im also building a personalised cat for a friend of mine, but, that will be posted on its own. Cant mix the cats and the jets in one post...can I?
