I have the motor on the bench with coils off - tested them they are good - replaced condensers and points set to .016 they open fine but absolutely no spark the magneto or magnets on flywheel are in great shape lots of pull - I just cleaned the point contacts to make sure and still nothing Help Please

Check the coils no spark on both? Unplug yer wiring harness at the motor maybe its grounded out somewhere..

I have the motor on the bench with coils off - tested them they are good - replaced condensers and points set to .016 they open fine but absolutely no spark the magneto or magnets on flywheel are in great shape lots of pull - I just cleaned the point contacts to make sure and still nothing Help Please When you cleaned the points did you remove the whole points system plate? also make sure no wires are getting pinched anywhere behind that plate or grounding out on the flywheel anywhere? i seen a fly wheel once on a old outboard motor with brand new wires points coils and condensers that have been just replaced with no spark... all it was causing no spark one wire was touching the flywheel and it grounded out the whole system === NO SPARK ..... Or try first unplugging the wiring harness.,,, Also on some cats the throttle has a kill switch on it which could be grounding out... it has to be open abit for it to spark.. Older Jags were like that, Let Us know.. What year of Cat and Model? VK
